FRAGMENTED EMPTINESS

The project aims to create in one of the blocks of San Victorino the possibility of receiving the activity from its streets. To achieve this, actions are taken that could be replicated in other blocks of the area. Thus, the project's form is the result of the abstract and formal exploration of three concepts: porosity, fragment, and fluidity. Creating a porous block means establishing a balance between the occupation and the void in its architecture. To do this, the space is fragmented, much like the San Francisco River did in the past. Fragmentation results in pieces and voids: The pieces are fragments that accommodate the commerce and housing of the project. They are organized among the remnants of the block, aiming to generate the fluidity of the void that embraces the street activity in San Victorino.
